Taliesin Overlook

After work today drove over to the Lost Dog Trailhead at 124th St. to run a 4.20 route up to the Taliesin overlook. It rained the entire time, but it was beautiful on top. About 1 mile on the way back down I reinjured my left calf climbing up out of a wash, and had to limp the mile or so back to the car, what a drag. Good thing I have a doctors appt. on Monday.

Quartz-Taliesin-Westworld loop

Ran the 5.99 mile Quartz-Taliesin-Westworld loop at lunch today, this time in the opposite direction (much more user friendly uphills) at a little over a minute off pace.

This morning, after some black Friday shopping, ran the 4.39 out and back route to Rural Rd., about 30 seconds off PR pace.
After lunch played a bunch of racquetball with the boy at Dobson.

Quartz-Taliesin loop

At lunch today drove to the 104 Street trailhead parking lot, and ran the approx. 6.0 mile loop along Quartz trail to Taliesin trail by Lost Dog pass, down Taliesin to Westworld trail and back up Quartz to the starting point. This was an awesome trail run, much harder than I expected, particularly on the Quartz part, and made for a FABULOUS lunchtime.

Gym

Went to the gym yesterday at lunch, did elliptical and core exercises.

Cactus bridge

Tried something a little different at lunch today. Drove up to Horizon park and ran from there to the canal bridge by Cactus, approx. 5.9 miles. Entire route off of pavement to save my legs a little wear and tear.

Driving range

Took the boy to the driving range at Dobson Ranch Golf Course around lunch time and hit a bunch of balls. Not exactly fitness related but it was fun and Jordan really enjoyed his first time hitting balls.

Racquetball

Played racquetball yesterday afternoon with the boy at Dobson, courts still under construction at the gym. I have been sick all week so its nice to get some activity finally.

Golf sign one point five

At lunch ran a route approx. 4.75 miles, about half way from the first golf sign and the second golf sign. Calf is still very tentative, not sure what I'm gonna do about this.

Racquetball again

Went to sign up at the gym with the boy so we could play indoor racquetball yesterday, but the courts were being redone, piles of lumber in each one. We ended up at Dobson and had some good games.

Racquetball

Yesterday afternoon played a little racquetball with the boy at McClintock High. There is still a place in town with old school three wall courts, I was amazed and the boy was very unimpressed.

At lunch ran the 4.12 short golf loop. Was well off pace due to calf muscle that seemed to be on the brink of pulling most of the way. Stupid injury is pissing me off.

Went to Debra's spin class this morning, more or less hit the wall at 20 minutes and worked very hard to finish strong. After lunch played racquetball with the boy at Dobson, it was at least 90 out, what the hell, it's November!

Yesterday at lunch I started out on a ~5.5 mile run, 1.5 miles in my calf started hurting in that way it does right before I pull it, so I stopped, turned around, and walked all the way back to work. =(
Later in the afternoon I played racquetball with Jordan.
